CVE-2026-59843 2 Libssh, Redhat 4 Libssh, Enterprise Linux, Hardened Images and 1 more 2026-09-01 6.5 Medium
A flaw was found in libssh. A remote authenticated peer can advertise a zero maximum packet size in SSH_MSG_CHANNEL_OPEN, causing later channel writes to loop indefinitely and consume CPU, leading to denial of service.
CVE-2026-80641 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: wifi: wlcore: enable the right set of ciphers The firmware version number check for IGTK introduced in commit c34dbc5900b0 ("wifi: wlcore: Add support for IGTK key") lets the amount of ciphers decrease on every boot of a too old firmware and that is practically happening. It also does not take into account other chips than the wl18xx. On some wl128x, the following can be observed when connecting via nm to a common ap: [ 484.113311] wlcore: WARNING could not set keys [ 484.117828] wlcore: ERROR Could not add or replace key [ 484.123016] wlan0: failed to set key (5, ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff) to hardware (-5) [ 484.123046] wlcore: Hardware recovery in progress. CVE-2026-80715 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-09-01 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: igc: remove napi_synchronize() in igc_down() When an AF_XDP zero-copy application is killed abruptly, the XSK pool is torn down but NAPI keeps polling. igc_clean_rx_irq_zc() then returns the full budget on every poll, so napi_complete_done() never clears NAPI_STATE_SCHED. igc_down() calls napi_synchronize() before napi_disable(), so it spins forever waiting for that bit and the interface never goes down. Drop the napi_synchronize() and let napi_disable() do the job -- it sets NAPI_STATE_DISABLE, which forces the stuck poll to complete. Reorder it ahead of igc_set_queue_napi() so the NAPI mapping is cleared only after polling has stopped, matching the recent igb fix b1e067240379.
CVE-2026-40019 1 Open-xchange 1 Ox Dovecot Ce 2026-09-01 5.9 Medium
An unauthenticated attacker can send a truncated quoted argument to the ManageSieve login process, which makes it spin in an infinite loop consuming CPU. This can cause degradation or denial of service for Sieve script management, and repeated connections can consume all available CPU on the server. Monitor system for abnormal CPU usage and kill the offending process. Restrict network access to the ManageSieve service to trusted clients. Update to non-vulnerable version. No publicly available exploits are known.
CVE-2026-82605 1 Barebones 1 Bbedit 2026-08-31 4.3 Medium
A vulnerability has been found in BareBones BBEdit up to 15.5.5. The affected element is an unknown function of the component Lasso Language Tokenizer. Such manipulation leads to infinite loop. The attack can be executed remotely. Upgrading to version 16.0 is sufficient to fix this issue. The affected component should be upgraded.
CVE-2026-82579 1 Ash-project 1 Ash Ai 2026-08-31 N/A
Loop with Unreachable Exit Condition (Infinite Loop) vulnerability in ash-project ash_ai allows an attacker who can influence a model's output to hang the tool loop and drive unbounded, repeated model requests. AshAi.ToolLoop classifies a model response of :tool_calls, then filters the calls through normalize_tool_calls/2 and unprocessed_tool_calls/2. Both can empty the list: a call missing a valid name, or one reusing a tool_call_id that already has a result in history, is dropped. With an empty list the loop appended nothing and recursed with a byte-identical message list, so the conversation never advanced and the same request was re-sent every iteration. Under the supported max_iterations: :infinity this never terminated; otherwise it exhausted the full budget. Prompt-injected content can make the model re-emit a spent tool_call_id. The fix treats an empty post-filter list as terminal. This issue affects ash_ai: from 0.6.0 before 1.0.0.
CVE-2025-10903 1 Gitlab 1 Gitlab 2026-08-31 6.5 Medium
GitLab has remediated an issue in GitLab EE affecting all versions from 11.10 before 19.1.7, 19.2 before 19.2.5, and 19.3 before 19.3.1 that, under certain conditions, an authenticated user could have caused denial of service, due to an unbounded loop triggered by specially crafted input in the SCIM user provisioning feature.
CVE-2026-78250 1 Bytebot-ai 1 Bytebot 2026-08-27 4.3 Medium
A vulnerability was identified in bytebot-ai bytebot 0.0.1. The affected element is an unknown function of the component Agent Execution Workflow. Such manipulation leads to infinite loop. The attack may be performed from remote. The exploit is publicly available and might be used. This vulnerability only affects products that are no longer supported by the maintainer.
CVE-2026-55588 2026-08-27 6.5 Medium
ORAS (OCI Registry As Storage) is a CLI and library for managing artifacts in OCI registries. In ORAS CLI versions up to and including 1.3.2, the recursive referrer traversal does not track visited descriptors, so a malicious OCI registry that returns a cyclic referrer graph causes unbounded recursion and memory growth. This affects oras discover, whose recursive traversal is enabled by default because the --depth option defaults to 0 (unlimited), as well as the recursive referrer counting used by the oras backup and oras restore workflows. A cyclic graph can be as simple as A referring to B and B referring back to A. A malicious registry can use this to cause a client-side denial of service, exhausting CPU and memory and hanging automation or CI/CD pipelines that run ORAS against untrusted registry metadata. The vulnerability does not extend to code execution, artifact substitution, or integrity bypass. This issue has been fixed in version 1.3.3.
CVE-2026-46385 1 Iskorotkov 1 Avro 2026-08-27 7.5 High
iskorotkov/avro is a fast Go Avro codec. Prior to 2.33.0, the Avro array and map decoders looped over an attacker-controlled block-count value without checking the underlying reader's error state inside the loop body. Reader.ReadBlockHeader returns the count as a Go int, which is 64-bit on amd64 / arm64 targets — so a producer can declare a block of up to math.MaxInt64 (~9.2 × 10¹⁸) elements followed by EOF (or any truncated payload), and the decoder will attempt that many no-op iterations before propagating the error. The realistic ceiling is "indefinite until the worker is killed externally" — a single hostile payload pins a CPU core until the process is OOM-killed, deadline-cancelled, or terminated. Remote, unauthenticated denial-of-service. This vulnerability is fixed in 2.33.0.
CVE-2026-74655 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-27 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: serial: qcom-geni: fix TX DMA buffer flush When transmit flushing a qcom-geni UART during an ongoing TX DMA, the UART gets stuck infinitely repeating corrupted TX DMA frames. The DMA-mode uart_ops does not provide a flush_buffer callback, so an in-flight transfer can complete after serial core has reset the transmit kfifo, underflowing its length and resubmitting page-sized transfers indefinitely. Add one that stops the transfer and clears tx_remaining and tx_queued. The stop path was also broken: it unmapped the buffer while the serial engine could still read it, and never reset the TX DMA state machine. Cancel the main sequencer command first, then reset the state machine and wait for it before unmapping. Drop the early return so a pending mapping is also cleaned up when the main command is inactive. The bug can be triggered from userspace with a large write immediately followed by TCOFLUSH. A following tcdrain will hang forever. The bug was reproduced and this fix was validated on Arduino Uno Q (QRB2210) using /dev/ttyHS1.
CVE-2026-13002 1 Redhat 3 Enterprise Linux, Openshift, Openshift Container Platform 2026-08-26 4.4 Medium
A flow has been identified into dnssec.c library, causing an infinite loop to dnsmasq service. An attacker who controls any DNSSEC-signed zone can hang the dnsmasq process with a single crafted response, killing all DNS resolution for its clients.
CVE-2026-80532 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-26 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: xfs: fix another iunlink infinite loop bug in online fsck xrep_iunlink_resolve_bucket is supposed to reconstruct as much of the incore prev and next unlinked list pointers based on what it finds on disk and in memory before we move on to relinking the truly lost inodes back into the unlinked list. However, it's still vulnerable to infinite loops that come in via the next_unlinked pointers. Fix this problem by remembering which inodes we've already seen and checking new agino pointers against that. If a bit is already set, either this is a loop or the inode has nonzero link count. We'll deal with the second case in a subsequent patch.
CVE-2023-4010 2026-08-25 4.6 Medium
Rejected because the CVE description attributes a vulnerability to a non-existent Linux kernel function (usb_giveback_urb()) and the reported issue cannot be mapped to any valid codebase.
CVE-2026-18726 1 Redhat 2 Enterprise Linux, Open Iscsi 2026-08-25 6.5 Medium
A flaw was found in open-iscsi. This vulnerability allows a remote attacker on the same local network segment to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) in the iscsiuio daemon. By sending a specially crafted Internet Control Message Protocol version 6 (ICMPv6) Router Advertisement with a zero-length option, the attacker can trigger an infinite loop. This leads to sustained CPU usage, rendering the daemon unresponsive and impacting system availability. A secondary risk of out-of-bounds reads exists with a short IPv6 payload, though no memory corruption or data exposure has been confirmed.
CVE-2022-23437 4 Apache, Netapp, Oracle and 1 more 31 Xerces-j, Active Iq Unified Manager, Agile Engineering Data Management and 28 more 2026-08-25 6.5 Medium
There's a vulnerability within the Apache Xerces Java (XercesJ) XML parser when handling specially crafted XML document payloads. This causes, the XercesJ XML parser to wait in an infinite loop, which may sometimes consume system resources for prolonged duration. This vulnerability is present within XercesJ version 2.12.1 and the previous versions.
CVE-2026-16599 1 Gnu 1 Wget 2026-08-25 6.5 Medium
GNU wget is vulnerable to denial of service in its FTP OPIE/S-KEY authentication functionality. The server-supplied sequence number from the FTP challenge line is used as an iteration count for an MD5 key-derivation loop without any upper bound validation. A malicious FTP server or a network attacker positioned to intercept FTP traffic can send a crafted OPIE challenge with a sequence number near INT_MAX, causing wget to perform up to approximately 2.1 billion MD5 computations and suspend for some time. The --timeout option does not mitigate this because it applies only to network I/O, not CPU computation. This issue was fixed in commit e9697d98e7249b0f68a6be040a4f3dcc5bc101fa
CVE-2026-61556 1 Harttle 1 Liquidjs 2026-08-25 N/A
LiquidJS is a Shopify / GitHub Pages compatible template engine in pure JavaScript. From 10.26.0 until 10.27.1, the strip_html filter in src/filters/html.ts can enter an infinite loop when an input string contains <, includes at least one preceding character, and has no later >. In strip_html, the search for the next opener advances lt while the loop index remains unchanged when the closer search returns -1, and the equality-only stall guard does not exit because the loop index is less than lt. Reprocessing the same state indefinitely blocks template rendering and can cause denial of service with an input as short as a<. This issue is fixed in version 10.27.1.
CVE-2026-45271 1 H20 1 Picotis 2026-08-25 5.5 Medium
Picotls is a TLS protocol library that allows users select different crypto backends based on their use case. Picotls implements its own ASN.1 validation helper, which is used by the minicrypto backend while parsing local PKCS#8 private keys. Prior to commit c14231d801407640bc42c2dcf92783409ea6a7c7, the validator recursively descends into constructed ASN.1 elements without enforcing a maximum nesting depth. If an application loads an attacker-supplied private-key file through ptls_minicrypto_load_private_key(), or otherwise calls the public ASN.1 validation API on untrusted DER, a crafted deeply nested ASN.1 structure can exhaust the process stack and crash the application. Note that the libcrypto (OpenSSL) backend does not use the ASN.1 validation helper of picotls, and therefore is immune to this vulnerability. The vulnerability has been addressed in commit c14231d801407640bc42c2dcf92783409ea6a7c7.
CVE-2026-72166 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-08-23 5.5 Medium
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net/9p: fix infinite loop in p9_client_rpc on fatal signal When p9_client_rpc() is called with type P9_TFLUSH and the transport has no peer (e.g. fd transport backed by pipes with no 9p server), a fatal signal causes an infinite loop: again: err = io_wait_event_killable(req->wq, ...) /* SIGKILL wakes the task, returns -ERESTARTSYS */ if (err == -ERESTARTSYS && c->status == Connected && type == P9_TFLUSH) { sigpending = 1; clear_thread_flag(TIF_SIGPENDING); goto again; } clear_thread_flag() clears TIF_SIGPENDING before jumping back to io_wait_event_killable(). signal_pending_state() checks TIF_SIGPENDING, finds it zero, and the task goes to sleep again. The task can only wake on the next signal delivery that calls signal_wake_up() and sets TIF_SIGPENDING again. When that happens the loop repeats, clears TIF_SIGPENDING, and sleeps again indefinitely. This is triggered in practice by coredump_wait(): when a thread in a multi-threaded process causes a coredump (e.g. via SIGSYS from Syscall User Dispatch), coredump_wait() sends SIGKILL to all other threads and waits for them to call mm_release(). If one of those threads is blocked in p9_client_rpc() over an fd transport with no peer, it enters the P9_TFLUSH loop and never calls mm_release(), so coredump_wait() stalls forever: INFO: task syz.0.18:676 blocked for more than 143 seconds. Not tainted 6.12.77+ #1 task:syz.0.18 state:D stack:27600 pid:676 tgid:673 ppid:630 flags:0x00000004 Call Trace: <TASK> context_switch kernel/sched/core.c:5344 [inline] __schedule+0xcb4/0x5d50 kernel/sched/core.c:6724 __schedule_loop kernel/sched/core.c:6801 [inline] schedule+0xe5/0x350 kernel/sched/core.c:6816 schedule_timeout+0x253/0x290 kernel/time/timer.c:2593 do_wait_for_common kernel/sched/completion.c:95 [inline] __wait_for_common+0x409/0x600 kernel/sched/completion.c:116 wait_for_common kernel/sched/completion.c:127 [inline] wait_for_completion_state+0x1d/0x40 kernel/sched/completion.c:264 coredump_wait fs/coredump.c:448 [inline] do_coredump+0x854/0x4350 fs/coredump.c:629 get_signal+0x1425/0x2730 kernel/signal.c:2903 arch_do_signal_or_restart+0x81/0x880 arch/x86/kernel/signal.c:337 exit_to_user_mode_loop kernel/entry/common.c:111 [inline] exit_to_user_mode_prepare include/linux/entry-common.h:328 [inline] __syscall_exit_to_user_mode_work kernel/entry/common.c:207 [inline] syscall_exit_to_user_mode+0xf9/0x160 kernel/entry/common.c:218 do_syscall_64+0x102/0x220 arch/x86/entry/common.c:84 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x77/0x7f </TASK> Fix: check fatal_signal_pending() before clearing TIF_SIGPENDING in the P9_TFLUSH retry loop. At that point TIF_SIGPENDING is still set, so fatal_signal_pending() works correctly. If a fatal signal is pending, jump to recalc_sigpending to restore TIF_SIGPENDING and return -ERESTARTSYS to the caller. The same defect is present in stable kernels back to 5.4. On those kernels the infinite loop is broken earlier by a second SIGKILL from the parent process (e.g. kill_and_wait() retrying after a timeout), resulting in a zombie process and a shutdown delay rather than a permanent D-state hang, but the underlying flaw is the same. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller.
